JON SAKR (OWNER)

ASCA Strength & Conditioning Coach
Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness

From the age of 14, I knew I wanted to work within the health & fitness industry.

I loved connecting with people, I craved a challenge & I enjoyed seeing how far my body could physically go.

So, to me, the gym was the perfect place to capitalize on all three!

To this day, these passions are still the same reasons I love being within the industry, only this time, I enjoy conveying the benefits of all three to my clients & my staff.

I understand the importance of community. Some of my greatest sporting & life achievements were always done with a team behind my back and so starting ONE80 Strength & Fitness has allowed me to help provide a space and a tribe of like minded people who support each other, train together and win at life together – one degree at a time.

EMELLIE Sakr (Manager):

ASCA Strength & Conditioning Coach
Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness

Over the past 7 years I have experienced what a positive impact training has had on me!

Pushing myself in the gym has transferred over to me pushing myself in everyday life.

I have always wanted what’s best for everyone, and I believe that this starts with how you treat yourself physically and mentally.

Through ONE80, I have witnessed total lifestyle overhauls and this is what drives me to continue to work on my passions of helping people realise and go after their full potential!

I am passionate about strength training, particularly in the area of educating women on the importance of resistance training and the positive effects it can have on your body, life and mindset.

I also have a passion for nutrition and understand the influence a high quality, nutrient dense diet can have on your overall well-being.

My passion for the health and fitness industry stems from childhood. Growing up playing a number of sports and having close family members already working as Personal Trainers, it seemed like the natural career progression.

I’ve spent most of my career thus far in sport, working as a strength and conditioning coach for athletes from amateur through to elite levels. During this time, my focus was to help my clients improve their athletic abilities and reduce the risk of injury.

Transitioning full-time into ONE80, I still carry the same passion, values and methods I’ve gained from my time in sport, and aim to apply them to everyday individual. My passion is now to help my clients improve their overall performance to live a life free of limitations. Using simple training principles, I help adults increase strength, improve mobility, and reduce the risk of training related injuries.

Some special areas of interest for me include strength & power based training, Olympic weightlifting and energy system development!

URSULA PEREIRA (STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH)

ASCA Strength & Conditioning Coach
Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness
Bachelor of Health Science (Sports & Exercise)

I first developed my passion for health and fitness having grown up competing in gymnastics before transitioning to touch football for a further 6 years. During my time as a gymnast, I was able to achieve one of my proudest accolades of becoming a state champion and also earned national recognition for my skills.

My love for fitness extends beyond just my own personal achievements. I am also deeply committed to coaching and helping others achieve their own health and fitness goals. Through my experiences with fat loss, building strength, and gaining confidence, I have developed a wealth of knowledge that I am eager to share with others.

One of the things that I enjoy most about the health and fitness industry is the opportunity it provides to meet new people and hear their stories. I believe that everyone has their own unique journey to share, and I am dedicated to helping my clients navigate theirs with skill and compassion.

I am passionate about teaching people that it is possible to make meaningful, long-lasting changes to their lives through discipline and hard work. I firmly believe that with the right mindset and guidance, anyone can achieve their desired results and transform their life for the better.

Julian King (STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH)

ASCA Strength & Conditioning Coach
Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness

My love for the health & fitness industry comes from a childhood of playing all sorts of sports. Playing Rugby League since the age of 12 has taught me a lot about myself and how to connect and interact with people on a deeper level.

I carry those same values with me in the gym. Being able to connect and push people to be the best version of themselves is something I’m extremely passionate about. Having people believe that they are more capable than their imposed limitations is something I enjoy. But more importantly, seeing people gain self confidence through training is something I live for.

I strive to help my clients improve their performance and overall wellbeing. To make smarter and healthier choices with their lifestyle to perform at their best & ultimately help them gain belief and self confidence that they can do anything they want with their lives. Whether that be in the gym or out in the everyday world.

Some areas of interest for me include helping improve overall wellbeing through quality strength and conditioning programming amd improving body composition through our wholefood nutrition protocols.

Accredited Sports Dietitian
Masters of Nutrition & Dietetics
Bachelor of Science (M: Nutrition & Metabolism, m: Physiology)

Before adulthood, I had no athletic experience, no idea what it was like to move faster than walking and no clue what it was like to feel strong. My first encounter with a barbell was when I stepped into my local CrossFit box at the age of 20. Growing up, I was always taught to be smaller; to be reserved; to do just enough. Whereas in strength sports, we are taught to grow; to be strong; to do more. This is really what got me hooked.

As empowering as CrossFit was, I was looking for better skill development and strength progression, particularly in my main lifts. After a few years, I eventually stepped away from random WODs and gained experience in pure Olympic Weightlifting and Powerlifting programs, alongside remaining competitive within Figure Skating up to the National level. During this time, I have come to value the combination of strength, mobility and conditioning for every athlete, including myself. At ONE80, I truly believe you will find a community who will challenge and support you in developing these components as you discover all the amazing things that your body can do.

I had worked full time as a clinical dietitian and saw many clients day in & day out who have developed conditions that could’ve been avoided, or better managed, if some time had been dedicated to nutrition and exercise. This is where I decided to make a career change. I wanted to be the force that redirected individuals away from illness and towards wellbeing. Quitting my comfortable and stable clinical job to become a strength coach, which draws from my knowledge of performance nutrition, was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Everyday, I look forward to helping my clients improve themselves. Whether it be through performance, self-confidence, skill development, their relationship with exercise and food, or habituating empowering behaviours. These are the things that help people flourish, not just in the gym, but all aspects of their life.

Our bodies are designed to move in all different ways and we should take advantage of that. I am a big believer that if you can’t do something now, it does not mean you can never learn to!

My passion for fitness stems from finally positive results with my own physique and performance for the first time when going to personal training sessions with my brother and my dad. I was an overweight kid all throughout my childhood and had developed an eating disorder. But after seeing the positive impact a Personal Trainer had on myself, I decided there and then that I wanted to help others in their own journey to better health.

am dedicated to coaching individuals that are committed to self-improvement and will do their best to yield the best results. That’s all I ask of people is to try before telling themselves they can’t do something.

specialise and absolutely love teaching weightlifting and gymnastics movements, but I will also be on your back to refine any movements to maintain a high quality standard for better efficiency and pacing.

I believe that training should be fun! If you’re going to be on the journey to better health, then all you need is a positive mindset and a good group of people around you! All the things that will make you enjoy it and create lasting results.
